Understanding the Past and Present
Abolitionist education must connect history with the laws, institutions, and experiences shaping people’s lives today.

PCAC develops and shares information about abolitionist history, the Thirteenth Amendment, state constitutions, involuntary servitude, prison labor, incarceration, and contemporary abolition campaigns.

Our educational work helps people move beyond simplified accounts of history and develop a deeper understanding of how constitutional language affects present-day systems.
The Paul Cuffee Abolitionist Center sponsors and supports slavery-abolition workshops, presentations, public discussions, and educational gatherings across the country.
PCAC has worked closely with the Southern Appalachian Yearly Meeting and Association, a community of meetings of the Religious Society of Friends, to help educate and organise members as active allies of the slavery-abolition movement.
Abolish Slavery Network
The Abolish Slavery National Network is a national coalition working to abolish constitutional slavery and involuntary servitude in every form, for every person.
Since co-founding the national network, Max Parthas and the PCAC have provided educational information about abolition, both past and present. The Center has also supported ASNN projects and hosted multiple gatherings online and at the PCAC location.

Abolition Today
Abolition Today is an international online podcast serving as a masterclass in slavery abolition from past to present.
Hosted by Max Parthas and Yusuf Hassan, the program examined current abolition-related events, highlighted historical figures, explored policy developments, and incorporated abolition-themed music and poetry as educational tools.
The series featured guests ranging from heads of state and policymakers to historians, grassroots organisers, artists, and incarcerated activists.
Abolition Today ran weekly from 2020 through 2024 and remains an important educational archive.
Live From The Plantation
Live From the Plantation is a 24-episode online podcast hosted by incarcerated prison activists and slavery abolitionists Robert Earl Council and Melvin Ray—also known as Kinetic Justice and Bennu Hannibal Ra-Sun.
Some episodes were hosted directly from solitary confinement, giving listeners rare access to abolitionist analysis and lived experience from inside the prison system.
Both hosts are co-founders of the Free Alabama Movement, which has organised multiple national prison slave-labor work strikes across the country.
They are also key figures featured in the Oscar-nominated documentary The Alabama Solution.

Tales From Plantation
Tales From the Plantation is an online talk-show podcast hosted by formerly incarcerated activist and recording artist Samual Nathaniel Brown.

Brown is the founder of the 10P Program and the Theory of Emotional-Illiteracy Based Criminality. He is also a co-author of ACA-3, a California measure addressing the exception for involuntary servitude in the state constitution.
​
The program explores incarceration, rehabilitation, lived experience, public policy, community responsibility, and the continuing movement for abolition.

MAXIMUM IMPACT
Beyond Maximum Impact is PCAC’s latest sponsored project and its most extensive creative abolitionist collection to date.
Written and produced by Maximum Impact Poetry, the completed collection combines spoken word, music, history, political education, and abolitionist testimony.
